The Social Experiment (Revisited)

Working with digital all day and dreaming about it at night, it’s funny that this idea came up. I always see the best and most creative things on the internet from resumes to tree houses but this business card was the most awesome thing I’ve ever seen (via twitter)

The business care found on Twitter

I didn’t expect but a few laughs from some of my friends but seeing how popular that Carly Rae Jepsen song I should’ve seen this coming.

The Power of Sharing

Why do people share? It’s cool or funny or sad or weird and this is why this was such a success. Only 16 of my 198 friends liked the business card photo and 3 only shared the photo. The average likes on their shared photo was between 6-7 likes. The beginning stage of this looked like this:

By that Wednesday evening it was already over 50 likes and by Thursday it reached 82 likes and 116 shares.

The Wednesday Count

My mind was blown, I totally didn’t expect it to reach to so many people.

Today it has reached 285 likes and 367 shares, both more than the friends I have on my only Facebook profile.

This was an unintentional experiment but it just proves how far you reach can go with a small business card. Imagine what that can do for your band or bakery or new clothing store? I’ve learned that people are on Facebook want to see cool, interesting, funny content. Use them to your advantage.

I was lost but now I am found. I have an addiction of creating advertising related meme captions and someecards. I'm an outsider looking from the inside.
